What began as a blog aimed solely toward Happy Hours has spawned into something much more. While we still review meals and cocktail hours under $50, our journey has taken us farther than we ever thought possible since Savorhour.com’s inception in April of 2012. We received an overwhelming response from our readers via e-mails, personal letters, text messages and comments directly through the blog requesting more. Soon thereafter, Brunches, Lunches and Dinner reviews were added due to the impressive number of requests we received. Shortly after that, a “Just Drinks” category was added. Menus in the sidebar such as “Other Areas” and navigation menus allowing visitors to locate restaurants by meal, cuisine type, restaurant name, location and even by corkage fee were then incorporated. We also now review establishments in the $50 and over range, to which we simply categorize in the category called “Worth Splurging”. Additionally, we started adding reviews of restaurants we experience on our travels across the country and internationally to which we have received favorable feedback from our loyal followers. And most recently, we have even incorporated a “Music & Musicians” category which lists the names of local talent, then links you to the venue’s article where they perform entailing details, photos and a bio about them.
A month and a half into the life of SavorHour.com, we received our first international SavorHour.com followers from Cape Town, Africa. That was soon followed by fans in the United Kingdom as well as from Greece on the coast of the Aegean Sea! The reaches of our little food and wine blog have already spanned the globe into Europe as well.
There are some pretty big surprises planned for SavorHour.com coming in the next year. We can’t wait to surprise you with those! But until then, we want to thank each and every one of you who have taken the time to write us letters, send us gifts and donations, respond via Twitter, Facebook, e-mail, text message and also directly through the blog itself. You have all touched our hearts very much and made us feel that the effort and hard work we invest into SavorHour.com is worthwhile. We appreciate your loyal following and look forward to making this a great first year together with all of you!
